getting others to join grouptalk

Dear Pals on Grouptalk, what do you think of what I recently wrote to a colleague who is involved with psychodrama but not on grouptalk?:

What's intriguing is that you're not on grouptalk, and this is of course true of the majority of people in the ASGPP. Perhaps that's one reason the ASGPP stopped sponsoring it.
It's a pity, because grouptalk has been the only dynamic forum for actual interchange in the field. Not only does it invite international participation, but there is actual discussion.
Other than the journal and the newsletter--both one-way media (sure, you can send in items, with no guarantee they'll be published) -- there is no general forum, no nexus of encounter.

Please reconsider. There really isn't all that much from grouptalk. An average of maybe one a day. Some days, three to six, other days, nothing for days at a time! Not only that, but please pass this along with your own comments to your whole mailing list! And have them in turn pass it along!

        Warmly, Adam (see below)

To subscribe to Grouptalk, a listserve about psychodrama for folks in the USA and
internationally, send messages, or unsubscribe, go to the website: www.grouptalkweb.org !

Here's what I copied from the instruction page: (Please pass this along to the groups in
the Midwest, New England, the Northwest, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, New England Chapter, etc.,
and if there are people in the field who are on local or regional listserves but not on
grouptalk.

> Welcome to the IAGP's Worldwide Psychodrama Announcement List (PAL), a free service
> offered by the International Association of Group Psychotherapy (IAGP -
> http://www.iagp.com) to distribute announcements about psychodrama events and resources
> internationally. (Free means you don't have to join the IAGP, though that's a good
> organization to be a part of)

Please send your plain text announcements (no attachments please) to
iagp-sychodrama at yahoogroups.com. You should include:
 a) Basic information about the event or resource
 b) Details about where further information can be obtained
 c) Whether it is ok to circulate the news further.

We prefer to receive announcements directly from people who are authorised to answer
questions about the resource - or please indicate that you have permission from such a
person to share the news. Similarly if you see a message on the list that you would like
to send to people who are not subscribed, please get the OK from the original sender (and
anyone quoted in the message) first.
Announcements are not circulated immediately, but must first be approved by the list
moderator, Manuela Maciel.

Pressing 'reply' to a list message sends your comment to the person who submitted the
announcement, not to everyone on the list. So if you wish to distribute an announcement,
don't press 'reply' to a message you saw on the list; send a new message to the correct
list address (iagp-psychodrama at yahoogroups.com). Please don't share this address with
people who are not on the list (either directly or in a carbon-copied/forwarded message).
They will not be able to use it to post messages.

If you know people who might like to join the list, please tell them to go to
http://www.iagp.com/lists/psychodramalistinfo.htm, where they can find information about
>the list and a signup form.
