reVisioning psychodrama

Dear People,
In terms of what might be the best response to various trends in our profession, it occurred to me to write up in a little more detail some thoughts about some useful directions. A number of our colleagues already have implemented these approaches, but it might be useful to discuss the proposal more openly. Another reason stimulating this proposal is the recent expansion of the official name of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy to add "and Group Work." I'm trying to find out what this expanded name means in terms of its implications.
Basically, I'm suggesting that Moreno's contributions include a number of ideas and practices that don't need to be packaged tightly with psychodrama, but might be useful in a variety of ways: sociometry, role theory, improvisational theatre, action techniques apart from full group or classical procedure, group work, etc.
This might well broaden the appeal and effectiveness of what we have to offer. Let me know if you'd like to discuss it or read more.
      Warmly, Adam
Adam Blatner, M.D.
