I think in order to have children role play the social roles the  teacher 
must be taught how to creatively allow the kids to interact  sociometrically. 
My granddaughter Olivia is 4 years old...with the birth of her new  brother a 
month ago she is offered an opportunity to be a sister, be it role  playing 
with her doll or interacting with her family, as they teach  her appropriate 
behaviors.
