This is only for those who might be interested in reading a scholarly article about the 
roots of a development in the social sciences called "narrative psychology," based on 
social role theory, related also to the dramaturgical approaches of Erving Goffman and 
others who think in terms of describing social situations in dramatic or role-based forms.
    Ted Sarbin was one of the pioneers in role theory and the author of the attached 
article has given me permission to share it with you, as it speaks to the influence of 
Moreno on this approach. (He only has Moreno's birthdate wrong--it's 1889, not 1892, 
though in some writings by Moreno he says that he was born in 1892. We have had an article 
around 1989 in our journal that checked out his birth records, though, and it was the '89 
not the 92 that is accurate. )
