Dear friends and collegues

Yes, I am very worried about this extension of Bert Helinger's
german approach of Famiily Constellations and its spreading,
as it goes against all that I learned and beleive in Psychpodrama
and good group psychptherapy.

  For various reasons-
  1/ First, you should order some of their basic  tapes
-and see them, and judge by yourself- and not spread it without  
really knowing
(what I am shocked about it is the frequent statements
" I (Hellinger) know better than you what you feel ..."
which goes against our practoice to ask while doubling or directing,
"is it possible ?" -" is it what you feel",
or what ever we were trainemd to do

2/ Then, as they are not professiponal psychologists and therapists,
they are the only ones that have a world organized publicity system
  and invade all channels in Europs and usa

3/ and mainly, as it goes against basic principles in psychodrama
for the following reasons :
- we have a specific training in psychodrama
and do not rely only on our intuition or projections
- we use warming up techniques to role and then derole auxiliary egos
and do not let them walk away still in the role and its problems ;
and often bad energies (from difficult roles)
-thus avoiding post group traumas and sicklnesses, accidents,  
illnesses ...
- we trained psychodramatists learn to make hypothesis
and not give judgments or statements-
  without checking statemants on the spot, in an aside
- and there is a deep respect for the feelings of protagonists and  
auxiliary egos-
-and not a good trained psychodramatist would contradict a person
(protagonist or auxiliary ego) about their expressed feelings.
- when we write and publish, we learn to make a bibliography
and not "invent" everything yourself out of the blue,
but that usually ideas are somewhat borrowed or extended from past  
writings of others-
would it be Plato,Shakespeare, Pirandello, or who ever  -

So, please, Adam, Kareen and others, inquire and see Hellinger's  
tapes yourself-
(I did, and met Bert Hellinger in person, and refused his offer to  
work with him
as our ways and ethics and training are so very different and  
contradictory)
- even if he consider that my work is basic and has translated
and edited in germany my book and sells it actually still-

-Do see and judge(using your good psychodramatic judgment)
  I have seen many persons hurt by the Constellations
- but reculctant to say it or spread it-

I find this non professional training dangerous and killing our fild

Hi Karen, I hope and pray that you and Ron will use this workshop to  
finish the paper.
  I could send you a copy of what he sent. If I weren't so busy, I'd  
even work on it, but I'm working on many other projects.
   I respect your interest, and if you think this is good, please put  
your name on the paper--
it happens all the time in graduate studies-- and let's get this  
information out there.
   Anne Ancelin-Schutzenberger is wary about this approach.

      (Do you know of Augusto Boal's use of 'tableaux" as an  
important technique in his Theatre of the Oppressed work?)
So anything that gives an infusion of life, and maybe even the spice  
of a bit of controversy, will help vitalize our field.
