near sociometric techniques

I am researching an answer to one of the sociometry questions I posed this month (www.sociometry.net) and came across this quote which may interest you:
"For Moreno, "a theory of human relations cannot be founded without propelling groups into action". The purpose of sociometric methods is just this...This is the basis of Moreno's distinction between "near-sociometric" and sociometric studies and between diagnostic and action criteria...The true sociometric study must permit actualization rather than mere response."
"Research techniques and studies which fall short of his ideal are not dismissed by Moreno. But he never fails to criticize such studies as less than "sociometric".
"The sociometries of Dr. Moreno" by Henry J. Meyer, Sociometry, vol15, 1952, p.361.

Subject: near sociometric techniques
Hello all, I'm still wanting help re http://www.blatner.com/adam/pdntbk/glossrypdterms.html if anyone's up to it.
Help re glossary.
What is near-sociometry, near-sociometric techniques, is there any such thing as quasi-sociometric methods?
Because as I see it, sociometric techniques are of two types...
1. Measuring psyche-tele: how you stand in relation to me regarding degrees of preference, rapport... more classical kind of tele...
2. I'm not even sure if in spectrograms, locograms, or put hand on shoulder of person whose issue you'd like to see worked on today -- if that's tele, exactly... where you stand in relation to me about shared concerns, background, agreements -- some slight, perhaps... but my impression is that these are called near-sociometric methods. In fact, these represent the most commonly used "sociometric" techniques, it seems. What do y'all think? warmly, adam.
this second kind of feedback of the group to itself is different,... I wonder what we should call it. I'll ask my psychodrama group>...
