As I said to Linda, it will take more than your agreeing with it. This will require your talking it up to everyone in your social network, bringing it up with new people you meet, and especially your specifically bringing it up with executive council members, future executive council members, and others at the conference. If it's just my idea, then it's just "Adam making more work for others." If you think it's a good idea, then you'll need to help champion it.

    Dear colleagues in the ASGPP,
         I have been encouraging the posting of the names of the recipients of
    the ASGPP awards for a number of years---and this has finally happened! Now,
    I think I need some help, or to find out if any one else sees it this way.
    If you do, let our executive council know: I think that in addition to their
    posting the names of those who win various awards, it would also be optimal
    (in terms of recognition, the recipients feeling recognized adequately) for
    the website to also include a modest (more than 100 words that summarizes
    the reasons for their award. (This could be copied and edited based on the
    letters of nomination.)
            What do you think? Warmly, Adam
        p.s. What about posting photos of the recipients of awards?
