I think our organization reflects the same forces that all social organizations in late-stage
oil-based consumption society reflects. Moreno, in his brilliance, wrote about these forces and I will
be presented his research (some small part of it - and my understanding of it) at the pre-conference
"From Psychodrama to Sociodrama to Sociatry" with 3 other colleagues.
That's not the point though. The point is that there are forces in operation within the ASGPP
that are a reflection of meta-sociometric processes within the global family of humankind right now.
Many thinkers believe and write that these forces are coming to a tipping point. At the very least we know
that these forces have resulted in the destruction the ocrans and much of the natural world, the change in our
climate, the untold damange these changes will unfold, the colonialization of Native people around the world
and the near destruction of that way of life.
But I am reminded of the Canon of Creativity; a circle, a warm up, a Dance Of Renewal!
In the midst of an insane war, growing reactivity in the global family, we have work to do to bring
a renewal to our own organization. Louise and Roberto hold the torch for us; as do the conference committee
members; as does the Council, as does Eduardo Garcia as Executive Director.
We are darn lucky. We have the brilliance of a method that can be our guide-line out of our own political power lock
that is keeping people away. I am saddened that so many cannot come to our Conference because of the cost. We have to decide
how much we want to be inclusive and to what extent we are willing to remake ourselves to serve the good of many who need
to be there but cannot. There is no one to blame. Not those who are serving our work by taking
roles. We have a great opportunity before us. Bowen thoery has influenced my own perspective: enter with thoughtful
non-reactivity.
Some time ago Ed Garcia recommended that to me, as a critique for my comments. I told him in reply that he was offering
me role trainiing.
I suggest we role up our sleaves and see if we can work together in some way to move us through this without blame.
