I agree with adam and linnea that psychodrama needs more research. I gave done and am doing clinical trails of tsm in taiwan and china. I will be publishing my 3rd book this year and it hsa research on the containing double in individual therapy and on 3 day workshop. I do pre and post tests using standardized psychological tests and follow interviews with protagonists. An easy design.
We will be doing a 12 week group for college students at 4 different universities in china in the next year. We will compare across time for each group as well as across the 4 groups. It should be a good study. Tsm has been invited into the universities there by the govrenment so is well supported at all levels.

Dear Linnea, thank you for the good words. However, please note that my chapter on
psychodrama was part of the last (7th) edition, not the latest 8th edition. It is held
over as a remnant, so to speak--which is why they allow it to be posted.
The point here is that without Ray Corsini's insistence, the chapter would not be
included. Danny Wedding, the senior author for every other issue, polls senior faculty or
chairs of the various counseling and psychology departments and the replys he received
last year showed psychodrama near the bottom, with other types of psychotherapy being
preferred. There was a fuss about this on grouptalk, with some folks saying we should
protest. I found this response to be an example of denial, because in fact the field has
failed to present a sufficiently compelling argument---not to the editors, but to the
wider field; and we can only do that through a much more widespread effort at research and
submitting papers for publication, presenting at other conferences, affiliating with
colleges, attracting academically-oriented people, and so forth.
Interesting, eh? Warmly, Adam
