>From Jorge Burmeister translating for GREGORIO ARMAÑANZAS" <gar at gogestion.com> who wanted
to tell you all about the 23rd Annual Conference of the Spanish Psychodrama Association,
to be held next year: 23-25 May, 2008, at the University of Granada, Spain. The theme:
"Who Shall Survive? The Applications of Psychodrama in the Society of Today (i.e.,
Sociatry). This theme refers of course to an important part of Moreno's general view of
human evolution, it's meta-anthropology and method, applied sociometry, etc. The point is
to consider the ways Moreno's contributions can be applied not only with therapeutic
communities, but also community endeavors that are not specifically therapeutic in intent.
To be considered are applications in various institutions, organizations, and the ethics
of leadership.
At the same time the First International Conference on Mediation and Social Conflicts
will be co-organized with this event. We will also work for example on ways to reconcile
people after a war---and also their children---and include, for example, the residual
scars of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. Another sub theme will be that of
restaurative justice, with Eva Fahlstroem from Sweden addressing this, as well the
political implications of such efforts. (Two experts from the UN will take part as well).
The program will be avaiable at: www.23reunionaep.net (webpage under construction).

Another bit of news: The International Playback Theatre Network and its Cuban
delegation are participating in the second conference of the UNESCO "For the Balance of
the World" (for a sustainable environment) from the 28th to the 30th of january in
Habana/Cuba. Before that conference several meetings will be organized giving insight in
the work of cuban playback movement but offering also spaces for international exchange on
Playback grounds (Jonathan Fox
himself will also take part in this project). The conference will bring together - apart
from Playback teams - a lot of groups from all over the world interested in the "fight for
the life of the planet".
