Okay, hello, Bud! I got the book! Jackson & Satir mention Moreno only in passing, as he "and others" began group psychotherapy with hospitalized patients--- and the citation (only one) is Moreno's "The First Book on Group Psychotherapy, 1957).
So to say that they wrote extensively of the debt owed to Moreno... sorry, no evidence of this.
As for Ackerman? He uses the role concept a bit, doesn't mention its source influence.
                    Warmly, Adam
Virginia Satir along with one of the founders of the Family therapy movement, Don Jackson, wrote extensively of the debt they owed to Moreno as did Nathan Ackerman who founded the Ackerman Institute of New York City which has pioneered training in so many applications of the family therapy models and welcomed others. AB: I have never seen any of these acknowledgments, and would be most appreciative of any references or citations. I rather doubt not only that they wrote extensively, but that they ever wrote it or had it officially recorded at all. I hope I'm mistaken.
Take a look at the following: I will look myself as I remember reading it,.My cousin Dr. Ron Robbins who was an archivist of recordings of Dr. Moreno for the library of congress may be of some help or perhaps Jim Sacks. Jackson, D. & Satir, V. (1961). A review of psychiatric developments in family diagnosis & therapy. In N. Ackerman, F. Beatman & S. Sanford (Eds.), Exploring the Base for Family Therapy, NY: FSA.

Also the following page has a number of texts in which Ackerman and Moreno were either together or at the same table either for real or in the same book and it appears that Ackerman is acknowleging Moreno. I don't have the time just now to check out the books.
