ASGPP 65TH ANNUAL PSYCHODRAMA &It may be useful to take a talmudic approach to Moreno, to explore through dialog and group discussion those points that seem odd or obscure. The idea that we should be able to figure out the "right" interpretation may be misleading. I'm not at all certain that Moreno was entirely clear on some concepts or terms, or fully thought through their implications. Because of the gems of what seem to me to be valid insights, there's a temptation to generalize and assume that all his words are equally insightful, but any history of psychology, science, or philosophy is replete with ideas that are relatively true, more so when applied to some situations, but less valid when considered in different settings or frames of reference.
So my interest is in bringing to the here-and-now, to the encounter, areas of mixed reactions or puzzled reactions. In other settings I've noted a number of ideas or concepts that I question, and have had a hard time finding others who would meticulously analyze the issues involved.
Anyway, having the same text available can make a start.
warmly, Adam
