Hello All: a few weeks ago someone mentioned an article in a magazine (The
New Republic?) written by a psychodramatist , using sociometry to examine
the middle east problems. I have looked for it without success. Could
someone please give me all the info I need to find it. Thanks so much. Linda
Ciotola

sounds good. Would it be helpful to articulate the concerns or issues,
edited, condensed,
re what the two subgroups were seeking to achieve? This might help many of
us identify our
own hardly-realized concerns, functioning, as it were, as a kind of
doubling.

Hi Adam,
I endorse the open society standard, I think one great advance in our
work
was offered by Mike Traynor during the meeting. He suggested that we
use the ASGPP membership forum to engage in a full discussion, ongoing,
overtime of the issues of moving forward. The issues generated
during the
ASGPP Sunday meeting were about moving forward and the particular
concerns
and dynamics that needed attention. So I support Mike's leadership
and want
to do some chatting on the ASGPP members board.

On that note, I am unsure of how to post a new topic on the site.

Does anyone know how to do that? I tried but could not.

Ed

Dear Ed,
Actually, there have been a few emails out from Nick Wolff over the last
year about the
forum. I spoke with Mike Traynor about the Forum and noted that it's hard to
get on and
very few people seemed to use it---that's why I prefer Grouptalk. I said
that if I knew
there were some folks reading and contributing, I might put up with the
hassle and use
that format, but so far when I've checked it, so little has been posted.
I wonder how many others want to use that medium. I'd play if
others would, too.

You might ask Mike to re-submit the instructions yet again, because
I've found that
one must be persistent in informing a social group about an upcoming event
or new
resource, reminding everyone at least three times, and then repeating the
announcement
every 6 months or so.

       Warmly, adam

Dear Adam,
Yes, I feel the same about Grouptalk! It is so damn easy to use.
But for ongoing long term discussions, the ASGPP is asking us to use
the site's discussion board. So I want to support that request and
think
it makes a lot of sense!

Well, if they want us to use the forum, they should make it easy. Put out
the announcements on how to use it. Put them out again. Recruit five people
who will post an issue from the executive committee. Request responses. Have

messages from the president.
Have each person on the exec committee introduce him/herself and what
s/he wants to talk about, do, and get feedback about. What subcommittee
responsibilities do they take on.
See if you can recruit five people with whom you've had good tele to
join you in this project. Better, ten or fifteen.
Do we know who the exec council is, their old and new subcommittee
assignments, if any have changed; their email addresses? That would be good.

Sue Barnum is moving or has moved to New Mexico. A loss for Texas. Has she
changed her email addrress yet?

Have Mike Traynor and our new president and others get involved in
promoting involvements.

Then let's see how much momentum it gains, or if it peters out.

What do you think about that?
                 Warmly, Adam

I think the direction, intent, motion and emotion of the council is
clearly to move the ASGPP forward.
I feel really good about all the conversations I had, with Ed G, with
John R, with Mike and others. It
is time to gather around and lend a hand, in my opinion. At least
that's my intent!
