next conference

I think Western Mass is a terrific idea, except transportation there is
a problem for folks who would need to fly in. As much as I loved the Santa
Fe conference, not having a local airport created all sorts of problems for
a lot of people.
I had also thought about exploring SUNY New Paltz. It is close to the
NYC population center and the local airport, Stewart, is about to become the
fourth NYC airport having just been bought by the Port Authority of NY.
Within a couple of years it will be a major hub.
The problem each year is, as Natalie pointed out, WHO is going to offer
the tremendous amount of time and work to put on a conference? Each year the
council has a challenge finding the WHO. Once we find the WHO, the WHERE
should be a lot easier to figure out.
I agree with you, Ed, that looking at the end of May and early June would
be a good idea. Not the summer...not only does it interfere with summer
camps and intensives, but also with summer vacations and summer jobs.
