Adam, others,
AMB I'm going out on a limb here, because I'm about to make a bold statement, and I am
not used to such behavior from myself on Group-Talk, given that I just began contributing
recently, and I feel slightly vulnerable that I say the "wrong thing" or offend anyone,
but Adam began it, Regina continued it, and now I want to say something:
ablat: Glad you brought this up, AMB, because let's say here and now that short of
being uncivil, cruel, nasty, mere opinions aren't going to offend me, and from what I can
gather, not most other folks. I want to promote an attitude of comfort with
self-expression. So even if I disagree with you in any respect, that's fine. My sense of
respect for you doesn't have to be changed.
amb: Isn't our economic system basically insane and destructive, for shameless
war-profiteering (at least speaking for myself as an American about America) and economic
production, at the cost of the blood and sweat of the masses, and at irreparable harm to
our natural resources and existing ecology?
ablat: I am wary about over-generalizations. I tend to agree with your sentiment,
but back away from what feel like excessive statements. For example, I don't doubt that
some balance of community/national regulation and free enterprise is needed, and that
excessive weight on either side of that balance can have problems. So I'm wary about
critiquing the economic system when what might be needed is a shifting of priorities, a
willing to deregulate some things, more regulation of others, lower subsidies here, more
subsidy there, and the ongoing discussion about the optimal balance.
amb: The question is, what parts need adjusting and more centrally, what are sane and
appropriate responses to an insane and destructive economic system?
ab: I like the way you begin the sentence, but the name calling at the end is
misleading. I especially object to the term insanity being applied to what we deem
foolish, because it begs the question, it overgeneralizes, and it implies that
psychotherapy has the best avenue into the solution to our many ethical dilemmas. (I
encourage y'all to check out my webpage paper on these ethical conundrums:

amb: These are important times to be generating alternative world views. As Edith
Wharton has said, "It is better to light a candle or become the mirror that reflects it."
There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects
it. ~Edith Wharton
yep, I just checked that quote.
In that spirit, my answer is that by applying all I am learning about the Morenean Arts
and Sciences to healing of society, the spinning, the time squeeze, the hustling, notions
and conditions of decay and prosperity, and, with the help of Ed Schreiber, Hector
Sabelli, and many many others, to develop to fruition Dr. Moreno's unfinished work of
Sociatry,
for the whole of humankind. For a sociatric creatocracy. I don't see any other way, for
me, really. That's my agenda.
Now it's the figuring out exactly how that will work that concerns me.
ablat. Good general mission. I'm pretty aligned with it. I'd phrase it thus for
myself: Moreno gave us a bunch of tools and I want to see them fully applied. Also, I want
to integrate those tools with the many tools given by thousands of others, from Jung and
the post-Freudians to Ken Wilber and others involved in the field of consciousness
transformation.
In summary, Adam, I'm impressed with your articulate presentation and generous
spirit, I liked you when we met, and it's fun to meet you in writing! Please continue to
be involved in our field! Warmly, Adam
ps I agree also with Jim Sacks' invitation to mark and erase/delete the extensive
compilation of previous emails that was attached to AMB's email.
