Writing for any professional journal causes most, if not all, of us to get
very anxious. Why - it activiates the 'incompetent or defective' schemas
we all posess. These negative schemas emerge when we 'think' there is a
'threat of rejection'.
My point is that your thinking processes reflect what most professionals
think - we just do not admit it to the general public.
On another note -- you say you are 'journal phobic' and my hunch is that
you just might be 'phobic' to rumors that seem to have engulfed the
journal. The current editors have been working hard dispelling some of
these 'old beliefs' that keep on emerging.
We can test this though - I am sure you have a manuscript that perhaps you
might like to submit for publication? Hopefully so, and i would encourage
you to send it to me -- i'll go over it and make suggestions, if
necessary, [usually is something that needs adjustment] and that
'something' only makes for a better manuscript.
I appreciate your interest in writing and your support in arousing
interest in writing for the journal. So can i look forward to a
manuscript from you? Don't worry about what shape it is in - just get it
to me. You can send it to me either electronically or by snail mail -
prefer electronic...
