We had a great group for "Secrets Of Good Groups" for our first sampler
on Friday, with a nice mix of people -- the director of a program
working with at-risk inner city kids and his assistant, an addictions
counselor, a woman who is heading for a career as a a health coach, and
two bodyworkers. There's still time to join us for the next two sampler
trainings, as well as actual training series itself.
Sept. 7
Integrating Action And Talk
Experiential techniques promise to enliven assessment interviews, group
and individual therapy, coaching and classroom settings. They promises
boring content go easier - or by contrast, enable people to give issues
more serious or deeper consideration. In this workshop, Karen will
demonstrate some simple and yet effective ways to enliven therapeutic
situations, including the use of props, how to identify the readiness of
clients to take action and improvisational ways to deepen a person's
experience of self and the issue. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, with
five continuing education and psychodrama hours. Tuition is $45 to this
special introductory sampler program; bring a new friend for free! Tea,
coffee and spring water will be provided. Please bring your own lunch;
preregistration is required.
Sept. 14
The Power Of Images
Here's the story: the left side of our brain loves words; the right side
loves images. In this sampler workshop, we show you how to use all kinds
of images in a productive way. We'll take a quick flyover of ways of
using picture cards, Tarot cards, collages and other images to encourage
change and growth. Whether you are a psychotherapist, teacher, coach or
artist, this workshop will offer many new ideas to integrate into your
work. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, with five continuing education and
psychodrama hours. Tuition is $45 to this special introductory sampler
program; bring a new friend for free! Tea, coffee and spring water will
be provided. Please bring your own lunch; preregistration is required.
All classes will be instructed by Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP,
nationally board certified master trainer in psychodrama, sociometry and
group psychotherapy who has been working with experiential methods since
1989. These samplers are an opportunity for interested professionals to
learn more about psychodrama and action methods and how they can be
useful in various settings for health, wellness, education, community
building and leadership training. Professionals who will find these
programs useful will include: psychotherapists, physicians, nurses,
educators, group leaders, addictions counselors, creative arts
therapists, focus group facilitators, clergy, trainers, coaches,
consultants, attorneys and others.
