Dear Colleagues, 

 The context:    The publishing house, Heldref, plans to sell the Journal of Group Psychotherapy, Psychodrama & Sociometry. We don't know yet how soon that will come about. We will continue to publish issues until the journal changes hands, so there is no set limit to the number of issues planned. I am editing the Spring 2007 issue now, and have received 1 article for the Summer 2007 issue. The following additional information is now on the ASGPP forum:

      The Journal Options Committee (JOC) was formed to explore how the ASGPP might best serve its members' needs and wishes regarding our professional journal, the Journal of Group Psychotherapy, Psychodrama and Sociometry (JGPPS). Committee members include: Martie Adams, Alton Barbour, Elaine Camerota, and Vickey Finger. We would like your input as we explore our options. Some members think our journal should remain academic in nature and contain research articles; they believe this is an important part of maintaining the credibility of our method. Other ASGPP members would like a journal that hits closer to home for them, with articles that are descriptive and reader-friendly for those who are less research-oriented. 

      A good place to begin our exploration is to consider what purpose we think our journal should serve. The JOC thinks our journal should: Instruct, Inform, Create a sense of community among members, Stimulate creativity in members' practices, and Maintain a presence as an academic journal.
