Interesting you should use this quote. I've just been thinking in my between-dreams reveries last night and writing about 4-5 pages this morning about how adults can advance in their maturation; and how (of all things!) alchemical metaphors can be helpful in this quest. 
        It speaks to shifting values, if anyone wants to read it and comment. 

      Ed, I await your laying out the 100 or so "hypotheses" and such. As you know, I seek a little more hard-nosed criterion of how precisely an idea may be implemented. I object to the idea that if we wave our hands, that will motivate others to come up with answers that we ourselves have not been able to think of. I find that others tend to be equally bewildered.
       So I throw out ideas that are somewhat more specific and then let others argue, refine, contradict, whatever. 
            I'm eager, then, to read even 20 of these hypotheses and your comments on their meanings and implications, the present levels of evidence supporting them, and what might be needed to find out whether these ideas deserve to advance in the evidentiary chain from hunch to hypothesis to theory to postulate to axiom.
