Gwen,

There are many approaches to trauma with the use of psychodrama. One of
my favorites, which I always integrate into my trainings, is the
Therapeutic Spiral Model, developed by Kate Hudgins. I use the model's
Containing Double and Body Double features regulary, as well as the
concept of restorative roles. You can learn more by reading Kate's
book, "Experiential Therapy with PTSD: The Therapeutic Spiral Model"
and seeing her web site at www.therapeuticpspiral.org. There are many
articles on the site to download by various trainers, including some by
myself.

Happy new year to you and all.

Subject: Psychodrama and Trauma

Hi all,
I'm new (again) to the list, so it's nice to see some of you again, and
meet some of you! I'm doing some research on trauma work through
psychodrama and am looking for readings. I have some basic psychodrama
texts from my studies with Rebecca and Judy and I, of course use Tian
Dayton's Trauma and Addiction often in my Grad work (Ed, I'm very sorry
that I'm not at your school...I've been "fitting" Psychodrama into my
coursework. Any other ideas? I've been enjoying the dialogue here and
will appreciate any insight. I am interning at a Women's trauma program
and will be formulating a presentation on a treatment modality for this
population for class...and hopefully for use in trying to help this
program evolve into utilizing more action-based therapy in the future.

Thanks ahead and Happy New Year!
Gwen
