To Anath, Adam, Ed and others,
This is the first time I am responding here on grouptalk. I so appreciate
this dialogue. In fact, through some questions, dialogue and work with Adam
about the transpersonal side of Moreno, I have been very interested for some
time in exploring the part of Moreno who is a mystic. I have been writing about
the transpersonal aspects of drama therapy, which is our approach to training
drama therapists. I have also been a student of Sufism and Jewish Mysticism
(Kabbalah) for over 40 years.
You said it clearly, Anath, that all Kabbalists are mystics but not all
mystics are kabbalists. There is mystery in both and in my experience, one
connects with these mysteries through grace as well as consistent meditation
practice.
What I best remember about Moreno when I was with him was his belief and
fervor that all was possible. He absolutely believed that he and everyone were
endowed with special powers, and were all part of the one spirit. Personally,
he did have a way to make me feel special and I am sure he had an influence
on following the mystical path these past many decades since working with him.
I will be continuing this exploration in a presentation at the conference
and would welcome any and all of you to join me. I have saved this exchange and
would hope to quote some of you in that workshop in Texas.
Thank you for sharing all that you have,
Blessings in the new year,
Saphira
