I had hoped that by mentioning Barbara Hand Clow there would be comments from people who have read her books or heard her speak.  I respect the connection I made to her delivery, content and spirit when she was speaking. I appreciated all the energy and information she gave to her audience, which resonated within me at a deep level.   I have followed the work of Gregg Braden, a geophysicist, who has similar views and training  to Barbara Hand Clow, both of whom are tuned in in ways that I personally appreciate.  I don't experience fear when I listen to them.
Quite the opposite.  I believe they are on track.

It is certainly not everyone's way of experiencing the future, or the past.  I regret that by mentioning her name on this listserve, that I opened the door for ridicule of her life work. (Any others who want to jump on the woo-woo bandwagon, please do it by back channel so that further damage of her reputation is avoided. annehale at swva.net

    Adam responding to the mention of the Mayan Code book and its author:
            Garden of Eden theory? That's the key, here: A common new age mythos, a neo-Rousseau-ean romanticization of the noble savage. Anthropological evidence suggests that warfare has been a constant throughout both history and pre-history in all cultures. The idea that there was a time when all this was due to a time when people "experienced themselves as being at one with their planet" --- where is the evidence for this? It doesn't ring true to any set of data that I can imagine. 

         How did we get to a "higher" consciousness from 200,000 years to 100,000 years ago? Etc. 

         ... The Galactic?     influence the Galactic Underworld?   Whoooeeee... 

            Well, it is instructive to know that this sort of thing is going on. I thought the cult of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was weird---and the instigators of that were doing it intentionally as a joke--- but this??? 

         I get real embarrassed at the confusion in our culture between cultivating an open mind and letting one's brains spill out.
