I've been asked to run a short action oriented group (5 sessions, 2.5 hours each or 6 2 hour sessions) exploring global warming (or global climate change) issues for Simply Living, a local community group interested in simplicity, sustainability and healthy living. I have some basic ideas and am working with a counselor on the programing committee who is into ecopsychology and will probably be using Joanna Macy's "Coming Back to Life" as a framework.... And I would love input from the greater psychodrama community. So please forward your suggestions, thoughts, and ideas about specific exercises and techniques, frameworks, and/or suggested readings.
The goals of the group are to create a safe container in which participants can explore and express their feelings about the short and long term impact of global warming, discover or reconnect with their power relating to the possibility of making a difference, connect with a sense of optimistic possibility and generate ideas about things they can and will actually do differently to respond to global warming.
Thanks,
regina sewell, Ph.D.
