To all:

We (in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter) have discussed seeing a
psychologically-oriented film together as a group and then discussing
it. We have an opportunity on July 23 at 6:30. NIH will be screening
"Canvas" at the AFI in Silver Spring, MD, a film about a 10 year-old
boy who has to struggle with his mother's schizophrenia. The film is
free.

After the film, Daniel R. Weinberger, M.D., Chief, Clinical Brain
Disorders Branch, Division of Intramural Research Programs, National
Institute of Mental Health will be the guest speaker.

The NIH web site with information on the film, including location is
the first link. The second link is Roger Ebert's review of "Canvas"
from the Chicago SunTimes:

I suggest that we go to the film and sit together. I tried to see an
earlier film in this series and more people showed up than the seating
capacity. I suggest that we arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the
film's start time, which is 7 pm. As you can see from the AFI web
site, if anyone is able to go to the AFI box office after 1 pm on July
23 to pick up free tickets, this would help.

Please feel free to spread the word and let me know if you are
interested so we can get some idea of how many people to expect.

Steve
