Dear Colleagues,

Maybe we could look at some of what we are calling Sociodrama for a little bit
try to develop or move toward a shared picture. What is Morean Sociodrama? Moreno planted a seed, some of us have cultivated, nurtured, cross pollinated
How does the practice look now? What are some of the common techniques unique to the Sociodrama method (other than the Psychodramatic ones?) How are we using ideas like act hunger, warm-up, sociometry, or doubling in respect to: “It is the group as a whole which has to be put upon the stage to work out its problem, because the group in sociodrama corresponds to the individual in psychodrama.” (Psychodrama vol.1 p.354)

“Sociodrama, therefore, in order to become effective, has to essay the difficult task of developing deep action methods, in which the working tools are representative types within a given culture and not private individuals.” (also p.354) Can we talk about some of these deep action methods? I am particularly interested in role wheels, opinion maps, or the diamond of opposites for starters.

Is there an interest in talking about collecting, documenting, and working with emergent themes, problems or solutions over time? I have been recently looking at Situational Analysis as developed by Adele Clarke as an exciting possibility for this purpose.

... some beginning thoughts. I would enjoy and participate enthusiastically in a friendly conversation around these themes.
