Adam Blatner is always encouraging me to share with the community the
success of TSM in the world, so here is a bit of news. Kate

Kate Hudgins, Ph.D., TEP is hosting 7 professors of psychology in her
home this week. They are all advanced students in TSM and will be
coming to meet Zerka and do a workshop with her. Kate has provided a
traditional chinese medicine doctor as their translator and set up
appointments at the University of Virginia for them to meet with
clinical psychologists there.

Kate returns to China for a month April 15- May 20 to conduct 4 TSM
workshops. There will be a Personal Growth workshop in both Beijing
and Shanghai where over 100 people are expected for each workshop.
She will then go to Huaqiao University in Southern China to conduct
her seminal workshop on Containment: The Key to Safety with Action
Methods. Kate will be a visiting professor at Huaqiao University
starting in the Fall of this year. Finally, Kate returns to Nanjing
to conduct a Leadership and Directing group for Level 3 students.
TSM China is growing by leaps and bounds and will be opening a
Training Institute this Fall in Beijing.

Kate is starting two joint ventures with Chinese colleagues. TSM
China will market and develop all Therapeutic Spiral Model workshops
and Action Solutions China will brand, market and develop the
business applications of TSM. Look for a big media campaign starting
the summer.

Kate is also presenting her work for the first time in Japan for the
IAGP Pacific Rim conference also in October. She will conduct a
personal growth workshop privately for psychologists and
psychodramatists and then present a one-day preconference workshop on
using TSM with bullying, which is a major problem in Japanese middle
schools.

Her book "Experiential Treatment of PTSD: THe THerapeutic Spiral
Model (Springer 2002) will be translated by the Ministry of Education
for the large (5000 people) psychology conference in Beijing in
October 2008. Kate and her team of Professors Ruby Shi, Sang Zqhain,
and Deng Xuloung will conduct a two day pre-conference workshop
followed by several TSM workshops.

Currently, Kate is working on her 3rd book; "The Therapeutic Spiral
Model: Stories from the Front Lines". It will also be translated by
the Department of Education in China, only their 2nd book on
psychodrama! It is a wonderful book that brings together TSM
practitioners from around the world. Authors from Australia, Canada,
Mainland China, Taiwan and the USA share their experience of using
TSM in individual therapy, group and family therapy and workshop
applications. They describe their work with eating disorders,
addiction, domestic violence, and attachment. The book begins with
a chapter on the neurobiology of violence by Ed Hug. A chapter by
Les Greenbergy, the best known researcher on experiential therapy in
the world and a chapter from Zerka Moreno on her life and work make
the book a very valuable contribution to the psychodrama field. The
book includes research on TSM teams, the therapeutic alliance and
healing domestic violence.
