AN INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL THERAPY
A workshop led by Christine LaCerva and Lois Holzman
Social. Performers. Improvisers. Revolutionaries. Social therapy's radical
humanism offers a growth-focused view of human beings.
One of several non-diagnostic, postmodern therapies, social therapy is a
positive, philosophically informed approach to human development. More
broadly, it is a methodology for supporting people to help each other grow and
develop. Now practiced in an array of settings (from schools and after-school
programs to health care, therapeutic and mental health settings), its focus is
always the group and the group's capacity to create emotional growth. Join
Therapist Training Program director Christine La Cerva and Institute director
Lois Holzman for an introduction to the discoveries of social therapy.
