I met Kiyoshi a few years ago at the ASGPP conference and  when he came the following summer to Boughton Place to attend an HVPI intensive.  What a lovely, kind man he was. Very knowledgeable, very wise. A great loss to the Japanese Psychodrama community, indeed. My deepest condolensces to his family, colleagues and students. May his memory be a comfort.

I would like to inform you that Prof. Kiyoshi Takara has passed away early this morning (January 31, 2017) after a fight with cancer. He was a founding member of Tokyo Psychodrama Association as well as a professor of Meiji University and the chair of the Japan Psychodrama Association. More than all, he is the best friend of us.


Plans for a memorial services are as follows:

Wake: February 7 18:00

Memorial Service; February 8 10:30

At Ekota Saijo, Kotake, Nerima-ku, Tokyo


Please join me in offering heartfelt condolences to his wife Mrs. Ayako Takara and his family. Kiyoshi will be missed dearly.
