Please read below for 2 upcoming courses at Omega Theater in Boston which
are open to CP and TEP candidates, current CPs and TEPs, and others
exploring and interested in the field.  CP and TEP candidates earn hours
toward their credentials.


Psychodrama and Drama Therapy for Special Populations

April 12th – 15th, 2019 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)

9:00am – 9:00pm each day (with breaks for lunch and dinner, and evening
time for assignments)

(9:00am-5:30pm for those not needing credit)

Location: Omega Theater, Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA

*Credits (if needed)*: *Hours toward Psychodrama training toward the CP
credential. * Also 3 credits available toward Alternate Route Training for
Registered Drama Therapist credentialing with the North American Drama
Therapy Association and . Students attend experiential workshop/lab
followed by reading/writing/project assignments to be completed within 4
weeks.

*Course is open to take with or without credits. *

*Description:*

The purpose of this course is to learn the therapeutic uses of drama as
applied to the differing needs of special populations. Students will learn
in depth about the developmental and clinical psychological needs of a
range of populations and how to adapt drama therapy techniques to their
treatment. This course teaches the application of the full range of drama
therapy modalities including psychodrama and transformational theater
techniques to a wide variety of populations with the intention that
students learn to become skilled in working therapeutically with a variety
of different populations and situations professionally.

*Ethics for Psychodrama, Drama Therapy, and Action Methods*

April 27 – 28, 2019 (Saturday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm & Sunday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)

Location: Omega Theater, Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA

Additional time is required to complete the 45 credit hours. Documentation
of time spent for
reading/writing assignments will be required.

*Credits (if needed):* *Hours toward Psychodrama training toward the CP
credential.  *Also 3 credits available toward Alternate Route Training for
Registered Drama Therapist credentialing with the North American Drama
Therapy Association.  Students attend experiential workshop/lab followed by
reading/writing/project assignments to be completed within 4 weeks.

Intensive weekend training, 45 hours, followed by readings, writing and
experiential presentation assignments.

*Course is open to take with or without credits. *

*Description: *Ethics, the guidelines by which we can engage in our
profession while simultaneously protecting the clients and ourselves, is a
tricky and sometimes controversial topic. In this training we will explore
the details of and reasons behind the Codes of Ethical Principles. We
will compare this Code with those of the APA &; ACA, all in the context of
Kylea Taylor’s book, The Ethics of Caring. This year we are trying a new
hybrid format which includes on-line readings, pre- and post-training
writing assignments, and face-to-face time in which we will play with
the concepts learned.
